Homemade Toys for your parrot

Parrot toys can be expensive, especially when they shred them 2 days later , here are some of our ideas, followed by some websites with some excellent free toys

Things that I have learned making these toys
  • the more shreddable the better !

  • dont use household keys, they can be toxic

  • cable ties can be snipped thru by little beaks in about 5 seconds......use sisal or cotten string

Bottle tops, paper rings and pine cones are included in this chewable toy. Make sure the pine cones are clean and germ free   Sweet wrappers on string, what could be more simple, and yet as you can see, it gets the beak of approval

marbles often come fastened in a net substitute the net for tissues, and Ta Da ! a toy What started as an old child size wooden clothes horse Turned into a.....

................Parrot Play Gym ! 3 willow rings joined with cable ties simply a bunch of straws, again with cable ties

A 50 p wooden and paper windmill threaded with some old toy parts and raffia A Bundle of Raffia

Rawhide Dog chews

some sisal rope looped around the frame with old toys to slide up and down These are some old arm bands threaded with old toy pieces, large cable ties would work in place of the bands though A climbing net, made out of plaited strips of an old t shirt
The finished article.....until the birds change it around
